About M.D. Dogs

OUR MISSION

The mission of M.D. Dogs is to be a resource for service dog training, standards, and research. We were founded for 3 purposes:
      1. To teach disabled individuals how to train their own medical detection dogs for a low cost.
      2. To bring transparency to the field of Diabetic Alert Dogs.
      3. To educate those who are wanting to purchase a trained Diabetic Alert Dog so they are able to ask relevant questions and determine the most reputable organization to purchase a dog from.

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Libby Rockaway

As a Service Dog trainer and researcher, Libby realized the lack of public information and understanding surrounding Diabetic Alert Dogs, and thought industry would benefit from comprehensive and proven instructions for training your own Diabetic Alert Dog. This idea prompted her to found M.D. Dogs Inc in 2017 and create the step-by-step training book and video series.

With a daughter with type 1 diabetes, Emily experiences the reality of type 1 diabetes every day as she keeps her daughter healthy with the help of their Diabetic Alert Dog, Filly. Emily is an active advocate for the T1D community and DADs, and understands the benefits of Medical Alert Dogs in ways that only those who rely on them can.
Donations are greatly appreciated to support our mission to continue providing affordable  resources, enabling those with diabetes to train their own Diabetic Alert Dogs. We are solely funded through  grants and donations from individuals like you and any donation truly makes a difference, thank you!
